Overview
Metal stamping forms flat metal sheet or coil into precision parts using dies mounted on stamping presses. It is the core manufacturing process behind YO JYI's lock components, hardware parts and custom OEM parts. Stamping suits parts that require dimensional consistency across production volumes, from simple blanked components to parts with multiple forming operations. Supported materials, thickness range and tolerances are confirmed per drawing, since they depend on part geometry and the specific tooling used.
Advantages
- Dimensional consistency across production runs
- Supports a range of metal types and thicknesses
- Suited to both simple and multi-operation parts
- Integrated with in-house tooling development
Supported Materials
- Cold-rolled steel
- Stainless steel
- Brass
- Copper alloys
- Aluminum
Equipment & Process Range
Specific thickness range, tonnage and tolerance capability are confirmed by engineering based on the part drawing.
Specific equipment models, tonnage and unit counts are confirmed by engineering per project rather than published as general figures.
Workflow
Material Preparation
Coil or sheet metal is prepared and fed for stamping.
Stamping
Parts are formed, pierced or blanked using production tooling.
In-process Inspection
Parts are checked at intervals against drawing tolerances during the production run.
Finishing
Deburring and cleaning are performed prior to further processing or packaging.
Quality Controls
- In-process dimensional checks
- Sampling inspection during production runs
- Non-conformance handling for out-of-tolerance parts

Frequently Asked Questions
What file formats are accepted for a quote submission?
PDF, DWG, DXF, STEP, JPG and PNG files are accepted. Multiple files should be uploaded individually rather than as a compressed archive; each file must be 20MB or smaller.
What information do I need to provide for a metal stamping quote?
To request a quote, provide your part drawing (PDF, DWG, DXF or STEP), target quantity, material preference and any surface finish requirement. Submitting a drawing lets engineering confirm feasibility, tolerances and lead time for your specific part.
What materials can be stamped?
Commonly processed materials include cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, brass, copper alloys and aluminum. Specific thickness range and tolerance capability are confirmed against your part drawing.
